Bible Studies

Our congregation has several on-going weekday and Sunday morning Bible studies covering a wide range of topics.  We also offer small-group, home Bible studies, as well as monthly Men's and Women's Bible breakfasts.

Music Ministries

Our Music Ministry's purpose is to sing praises to the Lord, and also to share our God-given talents through instrumental worship accompaniment.

Northern Kentucky Lutherans for Life Chapter

The mission of our chapter of Lutherans for Life is to witness to the sanctity of human life through education based on the Word of God.  We believe that each human life is created and gifted by God.

This book club reads books of varying subjects providing fellowship for members who have a passion for reading or for those who only have time for a good book once in awhile.  They meet to discuss the book in the homes of the members. Books and meeting times are communicated in the Sunday Voice and the web calendar.

The Fellowship committee provides opportunities for the congregation to gather to share time and food together.  This committee is responsible for the volunteer sign-up, meal planning, serving and clean-up of these events.

A recent addition to the men’s ministry arsenal is a weekly Employment Support group for individuals unemployed or under-employed requesting assistance with job seeking tasks – resume’s, interviewing, searches. A men’s breakfast bible study is also underway.

The Craft Guild ministry brings together people with varying and different talents and abilities in creative arts to aid in the missions of the church.  These include the support of the following ministries: care-giving, education, missions, outreach, inreach and property.

This ministry provides spiritual support for members experiencing a struggle in their lives.  Members of this ministry have received an informative training in care-giving.  They provide one-on-one care by calling on a member by telephone or in person, offering comfort and support through prayer, His word and a compassionate spirit.

To serve people in need and bring joy to both those being served and those serving by providing loving and compassionate care primarily to members of our congregation and the local community.  By generously giving our time, talents, and treasures, we will faithfully and passionately lead the un-churched and non-believers to know the Word and love of Christ, in both word and deed.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School Minstry strives to teach children of all ages the Gospel of the Lord through Scripture and music. Our curriculum is Bible based and classes are divided by age.  The children are also encouraged to sing with the Sunday School choir in several scheduled church services throughout the year.

Youth Groups

Good Shepherd currently has four active youth groups encouraging Christian fellowship and learning among youth of all ages.

Ministry In Motion

Ministry in Motion is a faith based fitness program that will strengthen your faith while you strengthen your body.  We offer fitness classes and a marathon training program that will get you motivated and moving.

Family ministry is a committee focusing on the importance of spiritual growth for any family dynamic.  We encourage and support Christian growth for parents and their children.  The Family ministry plans events throughout the year for families to get together and have some fun.  Family ministry also includes activities for Moms.  When active, Mom’s playgroup and Bible study meet every 2 weeks throughout the school year.  Good Shepherd Lutheran Church also provides a Mom’s mentoring program called “New Beginnings”.  This is a support system for families with newborns.

This group ensures that there are numerous opportunities for women’s participation in the life of the church. Binding Times Book Club and Craft Guild are two examples of Women’s Ministry activities. In addition, there is a monthly Women’s Breakfast Bible Study on the second Saturday of the month led by various volunteers. There is an active Secret Pal program that runs from February to February culminating in the annual Ladies Night Out dinner highlighted by the Secret Pal Revealing.

Supports missions around the world and here at home through consistent monetary gifts (10% of Good Shepherd’s annual offerings) and collections of special items such as layettes, blankets, booties, bibles, books, eye glasses, etc.

The purpose is to help support and encourage members to help one another with the use of the greatest gift given to man-our direct communication to God as we are instructed to do by our dear Savior Jesus Christ.

This group partners members with new members to assist them with socially assimilating into the congregation and all its fellowship and ministry opportunities.

Coordinates community events to encourage residents of the Northern Kentucky community to experience Good Shepherd and the love of Jesus Christ.
